This page covers Lego motor control projects using the PC parallel port.
1. General Purpose Controller board for XT PC.
A simple 8 relay controller board which is connected to the parallel port of an XT computer. A Turbo Basic program allows one to control these relays which can be connected to LEGO motors.This board also has 5 status inputs.This board is easily constructed using salvaged parts. A ULN2004A driver and 8 relays are the essential parts. A Turbo Basic program ( with source code ) is available for use with this relay controller board.
The following is a Turbo Basic program which can be used to control the relay control board. It has the following functions:
- 1. Simple relay control statements can be saved in files for
execution as a control script.
2. Control script files can be listed.
3. New control script files can be entered using a simple editor.
4. Manual control of the relays is done via keyboard entries.
5. A Test function is provided to cycle all relays on and off.
